This week's outreach was at Chapel Hill NC on Franklin St. I thank God for all the Seed Sowers who came out. We were blessed to have Harlan and His  wife Blair, from Goldsboro NC, GNN Goldsboro NC Local Leaders Tony and Shayna,  Mark from Fayetteville , Kerrigan, Sarah and myself.

We met at Caribou Cafe at 7pm for Prayer and Fellowship, then headed up the road to West Franklin St. where we were able to hand out lots of tracts and one-2-one witnessing. While Tony was doing an O/A at the corner of Franklin and Columbia the Police came over and made Him stop preaching. So we got the group together and Kerrigan called the CHPD and asked to speak with the Supervisor on duty, who promptly drove over to discuss the issue with us. The officer said that she was told that the other officers shut us down because we were blocking the side walks and the restaurant behind us had made a compliant. Well it was obvious to the Supervisor in charge when she arrived that was in fact not true. She said that we where well in our rights and let us continue. Kerrigan started out holding up his bible on the corner and then lifted up his voice like a trumpet and the WORD of God came out! It was awesome. He even had some hecklers shout back as they drove away, funny thing was they were quite while he was preaching until the light turned green and they could drive away. Next Sarah began to cry out with compassion and conviction in her voice and did another awesome O/A.  We then decided to start walking toward the car and happened to walk by a Funeral Home, were Kerrigan jumped up on a brick wall and started preaching as people walked by. There were two young men on bicycles that listened intently and Harlan and Kerrigan were able to witness to them one-2-one after the preaching. Overall we were blessed with no rain but the Holy Spirit was reigning in our hearts all night, and we had a wonderful time serving the Lord together.

Next weeks outreach will be Saturday Night at Raleigh Down Town Live event at Moore Square.

We will meet in Moore Square at 8pm for prayer and fellowship then hit the streets.

Friday May 19th could very possibly mark the most controversial period the modern church has faced in years. Dan Brown’s best-selling book, The DaVinci Code will open as a major motion picture in theaters on that day. With recognized names like Tom Hanks starring and Ron Howard directing, it's poised to be the most anticipated film of the year. In case you're not familiar with it, the story centers around Tom Hank's character seeking out supposed truths hidden by the early church. They're blatant heresies, like claiming Jesus was a guru of sorts but a mere man. That He was married to Mary Magdalene and they in turn had a child. Claims are made about the gnostic gospels and the veracity of scripture. The story is full of secret societies and intrigue, which the lost feed on.

We have an unprecedented opportunity to equip the body to answer challenging questions and objections this movie will naturally raise about Christ, His Word and the church. If we go in prepared, we can seize this opportunity to open doors for witnessing encounters and sharing the truth with the lost.  Now, if I may be so bold, I want to ask two things if you feel you are able to lend support in either capacity: Please prayerfully consider joining us or supporting the front lines of the battle here.

1. Laborers: Come and join us! There will be lots and lots of people to hand out tracts and witness to. Even if you aren't comfortable handing things out or talking to strangers, we could use a few prayer warriors to stand off to the side and offer prayer support.

2. Tracts and Prayer: If you're not able to join us, but would still like to support this effort – we'd appreciate tracts. I know from experience we can give out hundreds, or even more! With The DaVinci Code, we want to be out there while people come and go during multiple showings.

Lastly, I've come across a few resources to equip Christians to answer questions and objections that arise from this book and movie. One in particular is an excellent sermon series someone can listen to on their computer or an MP3 player like an iPod.
